Teatro Comunale di Bologna

The Teatro Comunale di Bologna was officially inaugurated on 14 May 1763 staging the first-ever production of Christoph Willibald Gluck’s Il Trionfo di Clelia.
The Teatro has always been at heart of city life, not only for its productions – as one of Italy’s most important theatres, but also because of its “strategic” location, making it very much a part of the cultural and urban fabric of Bologna.

Evenings and events can be held in this superb eighteenth-century setting.
The Teatro Comunale di Bologna offers a number of different solutions and locations to hold your event. Choose from 5 locations: Sala Bibiena, Respighi Foyer, Rossini Foyer, Rotonda Gluck and the Terrace.

SALA BIBIENA

The Sala Bibiena is the main auditorium of the theatre, designed by the acclaimed architect Antonio Galli da Bibiena and inaugurated in 1763 with C. W. Gluck’s Il Trionfo di Clelia. With its characteristic bell configuration, the auditorium has four tiers of boxes and a gallery.

The venue can be hired out for company events, trade association congresses and charity events.

Respighi Foyer 

The Teatro’s main foyer is located on the ground floor, overlooking Piazza Verdi, in the very centre of Bologna’s university district and is the “antechamber” to the prestigious Sala Bibiena auditorium.

Rotonda Gluck

This small, oval-shaped room, can be hired out for events in a more low-key yet delightful setting.

ROSSINI FOYER 

The Rossini Foyer in on level three of the Teatro. With its spacious windows, the Foyer is bright and luminous, and has direct access to the terrace.

THE TerraCE

On the third level of the Theatre, with views over Piazza Verdi, the terrace is ideal for hosting events in the warmer months.
