The Teatro Comunale di Bologna has always devoted itself to the training and promotion of young artistic and technical talents who intend to dedicate themselves to professions in the theatre world through the activities of the Opera School.
The Accreditation as a Training Body for Live Entertainment at the Emilia-Romagna Region confirms the commitment to guarantee a strong, organic and composite preparation.
The purpose of the School’s activity lies in being able to select the most promising young people and allow them to further improve themselves, but above all to offer the concrete possibility of overcoming the distance that separates study from working life.
The Scuola dell’Opera of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, is in fact, aimed at young singers, master collaborators and technicians with the objective of guaranteeing them a direct experience of the stage, with a significant work experience plan that combines the classroom training with the more specifically professional one of the public performance.
The limited number of courses, completely free of charge, thanks to the contribution of the Emilia-Romagna Region, have a one year’s duration and include individual lessons, master classes and work experience applications. which allows to combine the classroom training moment with the more specifically professional one of the performance in public.
For the year 2020, training projects will see the introduction of a very important innovation: the training courses for young orchestra teachers with initial courses in sections designed to improve study and technical refinement, with the aim of bringing together all participants and creating for young musicians a truly qualified way of gaining orchestral experience.
Also in this new context, the direct contact with the professional world that the theatre can offer will be the crowning glory on the learning path.
Opera Next is a section of the TCBO season dedicated to shows designed as debut occasions for young artists whose preparation has been studied in much detail, with a training programme that focuses on the intensive study of a work from the great repertoire and with the aim of enhancing promising opera talents, in coordination with the School’s activities.
The staging of the works Don Pasquale and Traviata, as well as Nozze di Figaro and I Capuleti e i Montecchi in collaboration with Opera (e)studio of Tenerife have all been staged in recent years.
The collaboration will continue in 2020 with the staging, in April, of the L’elisir d’amore.
